    What Is This Tool?

The Password Generator creates strong random passwords and passphrases with the length and character types you choose.

What Can You Do With It?

Create a new strong password for an account. Make passwords without similar-looking characters. Generate several options and pick one.

    How Does It Work?

Characters are chosen with your browser’s cryptographically secure random generator (Web Crypto getRandomValues), so results are not predictable.

    Key Benefits

Uses secure randomness, not Math.random. Option to avoid confusing characters such as I, l, 1, O and 0.

    Limitations and Important Notes

A strong password is only safe if stored securely; use a password manager. Some websites limit which symbols you can use.

    Privacy and Security

This tool runs entirely in your web browser. Your input and results are processed on your device and are not uploaded to Usekit servers. Generated passwords are never sent anywhere.

    Real-World Example

With length 16 and all character types on, a result looks like q7#Rm2!vTx9@Lp4z. Excluding similar characters removes letters like l and O from the pool.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How long should my password be?

At least 12–16 characters is a good minimum for most accounts.

    Are generated passwords stored?

No. They exist only on your screen until you copy them.

    Is a passphrase better?

Long passphrases are easier to remember and can be very strong.
