What Is This Tool?
The College GPA Planner tells you the average GPA you need in your remaining credits to reach a target cumulative GPA, plus the highest GPA you could reach with straight A’s on a 4.0 scale.
What Can You Do With It?
Plan for graduate school or scholarship GPA requirements. See whether a target GPA is still realistic. Set semester grade goals.
How Does It Work?
Needed GPA = (target × (completed + remaining credits) − current GPA × completed credits) ÷ remaining credits. Max possible GPA = (current GPA × completed + 4.0 × remaining) ÷ total credits.
Key Benefits
Shows instantly if a target is out of reach. Weights by credits, not by number of classes. Instant results with no sign-up.
Limitations and Important Notes
Assumes a 4.0 scale. A needed GPA above 4.0 means the target is not reachable. Schools treat repeated courses, pass/fail and transfer credits differently.
Privacy and Security
The numbers you enter in the College GPA Planner (current gpa, credits completed, target gpa and so on) are calculated in your browser. They are not sent to or saved on Usekit servers, and they disappear when you close the page.
Real-World Example
Inputs: Current GPA = 3.2; Credits completed = 60; Target GPA = 3.5; Remaining credits = 60. Results: GPA needed in remaining credits = 3.8; Max possible final GPA (4.0) = 3.6.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a result above 4.0 mean?
You cannot reach the target on a 4.0 scale with the remaining credits. Try a lower target or check whether you will take more credits.
Should I use credits or classes?
Use credit hours, because GPA is weighted by credits.
Does it work for high school GPA?
Yes, if your school uses a credit-weighted 4.0 scale.
